Exemption from a B2+ foreign language course and/or exam
A student may be exempt from the foreign language course based on:
- having passed the same course while doing another degree at the University of Wrocław or while studying at another university
- holding a foreign language degree
- presenting an appropriate language certificate
- presenting other documents, depending on the language and the level
A detailed list of documents recognised by the SPNJO and the scope of exemption (language, level, exam and / or class attendance) can be found at the bottom of the page.
- Students wishing to obtain an exemption from the foreign language course based on a language certificate do not take the placement test or sign up for the foreign language course. Taking the placement test makes it impossible to obtain an exemption on the basis of a language certificate or another document issued on a date earlier than the date of taking the placement test.
- To qualify a student for an exemption, the language certificate must confirm competence in four language skills. A list of recognised certificates can be found here: modern languages, Latin.
- Completing higher education in the English language (except from getting a foreign language degree) does not qualify a student for exemption from the foreign language course.
- A student holding a foreign language degree in a language other than those offered by the SPNJO should apply to the Dean of their faculty for exemption from the foreign language course.
- Certificates/grades older than five years will not be accepted.
- A student wishing to use their right to guided learning hours to learn another language should present an exemption document as soon as possible.
Full-time students who wish to obtain a graded credit on the basis of a certificate or other document from the list below should contact the coordinators of the following sections:
