
Incoming students
The incoming students are entitled to one language course per semester. The language courses are run by the Wrocław University Foreign Languages Centre.
We offer six modern language courses:
The following foreign language courses at the level A1I (elementary) are conducted in English:
German, Italian and Spanish.
If you think seriously to take one of the courses, please enrol as quickly as possible by writing to the coordinators (as follows).

Students who wish to continue their language course at a higher level are requested to take placement test. Information below:
The courses at levels above A1I are conducted in the target language (not in English).
A language course will only be opened within the organizational capacity of the Foreign Languages Centre (FLC).
Attending a course
Attending a language course is not obligatory. You can take a course if you want. If you complete it and get a positive final note or you take an exam you will be given 4 ECTS points.
If you would like to continue learning the language you have studied before, you should take a level test which is held at the beginning of the semester.
Details concerning the test are given in “Test details” section below.
Test details
- It is an on-line test. The on-line links to the test will be posted on the Foreign Languages Centre website.
- The test consists of 120 tasks.
- You have got one attempt to take the test.
Remember!
To write the test you must register using your University of Wrocław e-mail address.
The test will take place 19.02.2025, 20.02.2025 and 26.02.2025-27.02.2025

The result of the placement test will be given to you when you have completed it.
To sign up the class you should contact the coordinators listed in the details section below.
If you want to start learning a new language, you do not take a placement test.
You can sign up for a German, Italian or Spanish course at A1 I (beginner) level. English is the language of instruction.

Rules and conditions
The students are requested to read the rules on the following sites:
ENGLISH
ERASMUS
- Students take a placement test. Its date is provided at both: the meeting organised by the International Office, and the webpage of our Foreign Languages Centre (FLC).
- Placement test results and contact to heads of language sections are to be found: at International Students.
- Students should find the group at the appropriate level (see: GROUP ASSIGNMENT) and contact the teacher in order to sign up for the course.
- International students join Polish students in their groups.
- Students continue learning a language they have studied before.
- In beginner groups working knowledge of the Polish language is obligatory.
- Incoming students are subject to the same rules and regulations as their Polish peers:
- participation is obligatory – 3 absences throughout a semester are allowed;
- all students are obliged to do their homework, write tests, etc.
- Students receive 4 points ECTS after they complete a semester of their foreign language classes.
DEUTSCH
ERASMUS
- Alle Erasmus-Studierenden sollen einen Einstufungstest schreiben – der Termin wird in der Versammlung bekannt gegeben, die durch Biuro Współpracy (Büro für Zusammenarbeit mit dem Ausland) organisiert wird, sowie auf der Website des Studiums für Fremdsprachenunterricht.
- Testergebnisse und Kontakt zu den Leiterinnen der Sprachteams werden auf der Seite Incoming Students angegeben.
- Erasmus-Studierende sollten sich direkt beim Lektor der entsprechenden Gruppe melden, um sich in die Gruppe einzuschreiben.
- Erasmus-Studierende nehmen am Sprachenunterricht zusammen mit polnischen Studenten teil.
- Jeder Student muss diese Fremdsprache fortsetzen, die er schon gelernt hat.
- Für ausländische und polnische Studierende gelten die gleichen Regeln der Teilnahme am Fremdsprachenunterricht.
- Teilnahme am Unterricht ist obligatorisch – Abwesenheitslimit : – 3
- Alle Studierenden sind verpflichtet Hausaufgaben zu machen und Tests zu schreiben.
- Erasmus-Studierende können für jedes erfolgreich absolvierte Semester (60 Stunden) der jeweiligen Sprache 4 ECTS -Punkte erwerben.
FRANÇAIS
Erasmus
- Les étudiants qui possèdent les bases de la langue choisie, sont censés passer le test de positionnement qui se déroule en ligne (QCM) – la date du test est annoncée lors de la réunion organisée par le Bureau de la Coopération ainsi que sur le site Internet du Studium.
- Les étudiants s’inscrivent aux cours directement auprès du professeur à condition que les horaires des cours leur conviennnent.
- Les étudiants participent aux cours de langues avec des étudiants polonais.
- Les cours des niveaux A1I-A2I se déroulent en polonais et en français. Les niveaux plus avancés se déroulent en français.
- Les règles de participation aux cours concernent autant les étudiants polonais que les étudiants étrangers:
- la participation aux cours est obligatoire – 3 absences non justifiées et 3 absences justifiées par semestre sont admises
- l’étudiant est censé faire les devoirs à la maison, écrire les tests de contrôle, etc.
- le professeur présente les règles plus détaillées lors du premier cours.
- Les étudiants reçoivent 4 points ECTS à la fin du semestre (60 heures) à condition qu’ils obtiennent une note égale ou supérieure à 3,0 (suffisant à l’échelle d’évaluation polonaise).

ITALIANO
Erasmus
- Gli studenti che possiedono una conoscenza di base della lingua scelta devono sostenere un test di qualificazione che si svolge online. La data del test viene annunciata durante la riunione organizzata dall’Ufficio di Cooperazione e sul sito dello Studium (Centro di Lingue Straniere).
- Gli studenti si iscrivono ai corsi direttamente dal lettore a condizione che gli orari delle lezioni siano compatibili con la loro disponibilità.
- Gli studenti partecipano alle lezioni insieme agli studenti polacchi.
- Viene organizzato un gruppo di livello base con insegnamento in inglese. I livelli A1II-A2I sono tenuti in polacco e italiano. I livelli più avanzati sono condotti in italiano.
- Le regole di partecipazione ai corsi si applicano sia agli studenti polacchi che a quelli stranieri:
- La presenza alle lezioni è obbligatoria: sono consentite 3 assenze ingiustificate e 3 assenze giustificate per semestre.
- Gli studenti sono tenuti a svolgere i compiti a casa, scrivere verifiche e test, ecc.
- L’insegnante presenterà le regole più dettagliate durante la prima lezione.
- Gli studenti ricevono 4 crediti ECTS alla fine del semestre (60 ore), a condizione di ottenere un voto pari o superiore a 3,0 (sufficiente nella scala di valutazione polacca).

ESPAÑOL
Erasmus
- Los estudiantes con el conocimiento básico de la lengua elegida, realizan una prueba de nivel en línea. Se anuncia la fecha de la prueba en una reunión organizada por Biuro Współpracy (la Oficina de Cooperación) y en la página web de Studium (el Estudio de Lenguas Extranjeras).
- Los estudiantes se inscriben en los cursos poniéndose en contacto directamente con su profesor/a, siempre que las fechas les convengan.
- Los estudiantes asisten a las clases con estudiantes polacos.
- Se organiza un grupo de nivel básico que se imparte en inglés. Los niveles de A1II a A2I se imparten en polaco y español. Los niveles más avanzados se imparten en español.
- Las normativas de participación en los cursos se aplican tanto a los estudiantes polacos, como a los extranjeros, es decir:
- la asistencia a clases es obligatoria: se permiten 3 ausencias injustificadas y 3 justificadas por semestre
- los estudiantes están obligados a hacer los deberes, los trabajos parciales y los exámenes, etc.
- el profesor presenta todas las normativas detalladamente en la primera clase.
- Los estudiantes obtienen 4 créditos ECTS al final del semestre (60 horas) siempre que su nota final sea igual o superior a 3,0 (nota suficiente en la escala de calificaciones polaca).

РУССКИЙ
ЭРАЗМУС
- Студент приступает к квалификационному тесту – срок сообщается на собрании, организованном Бюро международного сотрудничества, а также на сайте Межфакультетского кабинета иностранных языков.
- Результаты теста и контакт с руководителями языковых коллективов публикуются на сайте Incoming Students.
- Студенты самостоятельно записываются в группу непосредственно у диктора.
- Зарубежные студенты участвуют в занятиях по иностранному языку вместе с польскими студентами.
- Студенты продолжают обучение иностранному языку, который они изучали до поступления в университет.
- Студенты-иностранцы, а также польские студенты обязаны:
- регулярно посещать занятия – допустимое количество – 5 пропусков занятий
- готовить домашние задания, писать контрольные работы (коллоквиумы,тесты) и т. п.
- Студент получает 4 балла ETCS после сдачи зачёта по данному языку.
